About The Image

The light was soft and lovely after an evening summer storm rolled through, and the beauty of the gnarled branches of this tree caught my eye, so I decided to “paint” the tree with my camera capturing the ethereal movement and creating abstraction through the use of intentional camera movement.  Interestingly, I’ve never been a painter in the traditional sense and instead of painting with brushes and paint, I paint with my camera.

Print to Protect Our National Parks

I feel very lucky to live in Australia where we have an abundance of beautiful National Parks to explore and experience.  For every print sold I will donate $5 to The Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife.

The Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife is the charity partner of the national parks and wildlife services across Australia. They are a non-government organisation with a mission to safeguard ecosystems, wilderness, and flora and fauna. You can read more about their 2021 Impact Report here.

Print Sizes

A4 prints are 21.0cm x 29.7cm (this is the image size without border size included)

A3 prints are 29.7cm x 42.0cm (this is the image size without border size included)

A2 prints are 42.0cm x 59.4cm (this is the image size without border size included)

You can choose to have your print with or without a white border.  The white border measurement adds an additional 0.3cm edge to your specified print size to mount and frame depending on your chosen frame size.  If you choose no border, your image will be printed edge to edge (read more about your print care FAQ here).

The Paper, Printing & Packaging Process

Abstract Nature: 1 is an unframed print in portrait orientation.

All prints are printed on matte, 310gsm Ilford Galerie 100% cotton rag paper which provides brilliant clarity, sharpness and colour to your fine art photographic print.  All prints are made to order and it can take up to 5 business days to get your order printed.

I am trying my best to reduce my environmental footprint due to the significant waste associated with packaging whilst still ensuring your print arrives safely.  Once your order is back from the printers, your fine art print is then checked by me and wrapped with acid free Kraft tissue paper on both sides of the print for rolling purposes to ensure no fingerprints end up on your beautiful print.  You will receive your fine art print in a mailing tube.  The mailing tube and acid free Kraft tissue paper are able to be recycled in your household recycling bin.  Unfortunately, the mailing label, plastic lid on the mailing tube and tape that protect and seal your print in the mailing tube cannot be recycled and will need to be disposed of in your household general waste bin.

In your mailing tube will be your beautiful fine art print, and the tissue paper it is wrapped in and that’s it!  As I’m actively and consciously navigating how best to deliver your print in an environmentally friendly way whilst still showing my gratitude and thanks to you for supporting my small business, I have chosen not to include a printed thank you note, or custom stickers in or on the mailing tube.  I will send you a personalised thank you for purchasing Australian National Parks: I to your email instead.

• All prints are placed to order.  Please allow up to five (5) business days processing time on all orders.
• Once your image has been printed, it will be sent through a tracked delivery method, so your order should arrive within 7-10 business days of the image being sent off.  I want you to have your print as quickly as possibly, however due to ongoing Covid-19 disruptions and extreme weather conditions, Australia Post are experiencing delays that are out of my control.  Please keep this in mind if you’re ordering a print as a gift and allow plenty of time to get your print on time.
• There is no return or exchange for mishandled fine art photographs by the customer.  I personally check over and package all prints to ensure quality assurance of each fine art print before it is sent to you.  Please always read the print care FAQ carefully before opening and handling your fine art print.
