Why I decided to leave the corporate world

Long Exposure Enchanted Walk, Cradle Mountain, Tasmania, Australia

I’m Deb – lover of Rosé, cheese platters, old school vinyls and flowers. I’m also a Francophile, dreamer, and proud plant mum and am passionate about all things writing and photography and I love, love, love to tell stories through my lens.

I’m a photographer from Newcastle Australia specialising in floral, botanical and product photography and I decided to leave the corporate world to launch my own creative photography studio.

After such an incredibly unprecedented time in our worlds history in 2020, 2021 was probably not the most ideal time to go all in and launch my own business, but it is for that exact reason that I’ve decided there’s no time like the present.

In many ways, what 2020 has taught a lot of us, is that there is uncertainty around every corner and we must do what makes our hearts sing where possible.

I am very blessed in that 2020 and 2021 (so far) has helped me to clarify my vision for future Deb. So, here I am doing the damn thing – launching my business and following my passion with a healthy dose of self-belief and with the most incredible support network a gal could ever dream of.

I’m not one for curating what appears to be a perfect life – indeed my life, as I’m sure so many others are – is definitely not perfect, and so I’ll be sharing the small biz journey with you all – the highs, the lows, the joy, the frustration and I will be documenting it here to take you all along for the ride.

So, if you’re game, jump in and buckle up – it’s going to be a wild ride!  Don’t forget to sign up to my email list where I’ll send you a newsletter once a month about what’s happening here at Lens & Muse HQ and you’ll also be the first to know about any sales.

Until next time,
